The strategic vision of agricultural development in Croatia after 2020: Sub-sector: energy crops

On October 11, 2018, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Croatia and the World Bank began joint implementation of the project “Agriculture and Fisheries Development Strategy of the Republic of Croatia 2020”. As part of the project, they recently published a presentation of the Strategic Vision for the Development of the Republic of Croatia after 2020, with a particular focus on the energy crops sub-sector. This presentation gives an insight into the possibilities and benefits of growing energy crops. As the Law on Short Rotation Crops, of all potential energy crops of agricultural origin, so far allows only perennial grass Miscanthus x giganteus , the analysis of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats is adapted to its cultivation.
